Prediabetic at 40: Can You Turn It Around?

The word came through the patient portal on a Tuesday. Prediabetic.

You read it twice. Then you sat in the truck in the driveway and searched it on your phone before you went inside, because you were not ready to say it at dinner.

Here is the steadiest answer available.

Can you turn prediabetes around at 40?

Research generally shows this stage responds strongly to lifestyle change. That is the honest answer, and it comes with two conditions. It is not a promise about your specific case, and your doctor is the one who reads your numbers and tracks whether the trend bends.
